Blue Ridge Parkway Elopement

Ashley & Logan opted for an early November elopement and it stole my heart.

Elopements are not permitted along the Blue Ridge Parkway in October (when the leaves change color and a lot of people come to visit Asheville) but the first week of November is still perfect!

Ashley & Logan chose Buck Springs Gap overlook, at the base of Mount Pisgah (MP 407.7).

Due to the rain, we were the only people there. No mountain views but we had beautiful light – in my opinion, the most important element for your wedding photography.

The Blue Ridge Parkway is a stunning location and it is a “Leave no trace” location: make sure to not bring along live flowers or anything that could impact the environment.

As an Asheville elopement photographer, I can tell you that it rains quite frequently (it’s a temperate rain forest after all).

If you have an elopement photographer who is familiar with the area, a couple of umbrellas and an adventurous spirit you will get magical photos!

If you are interested in a mountain elopement, contact me, I can’t wait to hear from you!

If you too want to know how to get married along the Blue Ridge Parkway, you should contact the NPS to request a permit. You will need to request your wedding permit at least 30 days in advance, the sooner that you can request, the better!
